Make your Bubble app production-ready
Bubble apps reach real revenue more often than people expect. They also hit a wall: workload units, page load times, and privacy rules that were never designed for the traffic that arrived.
Privacy rules the interface respects and the Data API does not, exposing fields no screen ever showed.

Where Bubble apps break in production
What actually goes wrong, and why you would not have spotted it yourself. These are the findings we file most often, not a generic checklist.
- Finding 01
The bill grows faster than the users do
Inefficient workflows and repeated searches consume workload units at a rate that scales faster than revenue does.
Workload cost spiral
- Finding 02
One customer can reach another customer's records
Data exposed through the API or searchable in ways the UI never intended, because privacy rules were added after the fact.
Privacy rules as an afterthought
- Finding 03
The main list page gets slower every month
Repeating groups that search the full database on load, with no constraints and no pagination.
Slow list-heavy pages
- Finding 04
You cannot leave, and the price is theirs to set
Logic locked into the visual editor, with no exported representation and no migration path.
No route off the platform
The Bubble fix list
We are not here to talk you off Bubble. Most of this work makes the app cheaper and faster where it is - and the migration plan at the end is something you keep whether or not you ever use it.
- Profile and rewrite the workflows driving workload consumption
- Rebuild privacy rules from the data model up and verify them via the API
- Add constraints, pagination, and caching to list-heavy pages
- Move heavy processing to backend workflows or an external service
- Design a staged migration path when Bubble stops being the right fit
- Set up monitoring so cost and performance regressions surface early
A typical Bubble engagement
Durations from real projects of comparable size. The check is free and everything after it is quoted as fixed scope, so you know the price before we start.

Production Check
3–5 daysWe profile where workload units actually go, call your Data API as a logged-out visitor and as an ordinary user to see what privacy rules let through, and time the pages your users spend their day on.
- 2
Privacy rules from the data model up
Week 1Rules rewritten per type and per field rather than patched per page, then verified from outside through the API instead of from inside the editor.
- 3
Workload and page speed
Week 1–3Searches get constraints and pagination, repeated searches get restructured or cached, and heavy processing moves to backend workflows or an external service where a unit is not charged for each step.
- 4
Guardrails and a costed plan
Week 3–4Monitoring on workload consumption and page timings, so a regression shows up in a dashboard rather than on an invoice.
What you keep
Everything we produce belongs to you. If you stop working with us tomorrow, nothing stops running and nothing becomes unmaintainable.
Your accounts and your code
The repository, the cloud accounts, the database and the domain stay in your name.
The report, whatever you decide next
Findings, severity ratings, reproduction steps and effort estimates, written for an engineer.
Infrastructure written down
The environment is defined as code in your repository and comes with a runbook: how to deploy, how to roll back, how to restore, and what to check first.
Your Bubble app, still editable
We work in your development version and deploy to live with you watching.
Bubble questions we get asked
If yours is not here, ask it on the call. The first one is free and there is no obligation afterwards.
Usually, yes. Consumption concentrates in a few places: searches without constraints, searches performed inside repeating groups so they run once per row, recursive workflows that do more passes than intended, and list operations on large datasets.
Ask the Data API rather than the editor. Call the endpoint for one of your data types with no authentication, then with an ordinary user token, and read what comes back field by field.
There is no default answer and we do not have a preferred one.
Yes. Add us as a collaborator and we work in the development version, never straight on live.
Built with something else as well?
Most apps we see are two or three of these stacked together - a builder on the front, a hosted database behind it, and an agent editing both.
- Lovable
React and Supabase from a chat prompt. The access rules are the risk.
View playbook - Replit
Agent-built code in a repl. The runtime, the disk and the secrets all change.
View playbook - Base44
Full-stack apps built in-platform. Record-level access and ownership are the questions.
View playbook - Claude Code
Real code in your own repo. The gaps are operational, not syntactic.
View playbook - Cursor
Code you own, written fast, by an agent holding your credentials.
View playbook - Bolt.new
A full-stack app in an afternoon. The last twenty per cent is auth and data rules.
View playbook - v0
The best-looking React in the category, usually wired to mock data.
View playbook - Supabase
Great production database, rarely configured like one.
View playbook - Firebase
Auth and a database in an afternoon. The rules and the bill arrive later.
